About Vatzlav by Slawomir Mrozek...Bears et al Unveiled in Vatzlav Liberty consists of the power to do whatever does not injure others. So says Vatzlav amidst a striptease act meant to entice the masses. Former New York Times writer, Mel Gussow describes this play as "a three-ring circus of a comedy, cataloguing the injustices - and the sheer craziness - of civilization." See a bear-man, a burlesquing Justice, a blood-sucking wealthy Bat couple, and a pleading Oedipus Rex all encountering a washed-up Everyman rogue slave determined to outwit them all.
